Dr Sarah Howling, Headteacher at The Kingsley School, will lead a series of free parent workshops, each devoted to a different aspect of raising teens and tweens. All are welcome to come along to join the conversation and enjoy complimentary refreshments. Parents can attend as many workshops as they wish – all that we ask is that you sign up in advance.

Tuesday 23 April – Managing academic stress in your teen or tween
Together we’ll explore the different types of stress and the impact, learn strategies to support both you and your child, and you’ll also walk away with top tips to build healthy study and revision habits at home.

Wednesday 15 May – How to stay connected and communicate with your teen or tween
Life with teens and tweens can be wonderful and challenging all at the same time. In this workshop you’ll learn 5 ways to build a stronger relationship with your child through effective communication and coaching strategies. A win-win!

Tuesday 4 June – Transitions: the secondary school survival guide for parents
The transition from primary to secondary school can be an exciting time. It marks an important stage in growing up, but like any change, it can also bring uncertainty. This workshop will provide you with a toolkit of strategies to support your child (and you) both emotionally and practically with the move to ‘big school’.

About Dr. Sarah Howling

 

Sarah has over 25 years’ experience in education, both in the UK and international sector, and was the Principal of outstanding schools in Argentina and Malaysia before becoming Headteacher at The Kingsley School. Sarah has an MBA in Educational Management and is a Doctor of Social Science. She is also an accredited coach and coach supervisor, a positive psychology practitioner, a mediator, and a Harvard-trained negotiator. Sarah is passionate about supporting young people to become healthier, happier, and higher-achieving through the power of positive parenting and positive education.
