Yesterday, the whole of Year 7 went on a drama trip to Stratford to visit Shakespeare’s Birthplace and The RSC as part of their current Shakespeare project. We started with an educational talk at Hall’s Croft called ‘Brush up your Shakespeare’ and then went on a tour around the Birthplace. We learnt a lot of information about William Shakespeare and what life would have been like for him growing up in Elizabethan England. After this, we went to the RSC for a backstage tour, which was fascinating. We were lucky enough to have a sneaky peak at an understudy rehearsal for ‘A Box of Delights’, visit the enormous costume department at The Other Place, Travel to the top of the tower to survey the surrounding countryside and visit an interactive exhibition called ‘The Play’s the Thing’. Overall, the day was a huge success and brimming with exciting facts.
