Introducing Kingsley Explorers – Where curiosity begins
The Kingsley School and Warwick Schools Foundation are proud to announce the opening of Kingsley Explorers – a new day nursery offering year-round places and catering to children as young as two-years-old in the heart of Leamington Spa. Eventually, the nursery will take babies as young as six-months-old.
Kingsley Explorers will open in September 2026, based on the ground floor of the existing Kingsley Preparatory School. The nursery will draw on the extensive experience of both Kingsley and wider Warwick Schools Foundation staff to provide an exciting, safe and happy nursery environment for up to 62 children at a time.
Kingsley Explorers is built on a simple but powerful idea – that the earliest years should be filled with curiosity, confidence and a spirit of discovery and that these characteristics can be nurtured in the crucial early years. Children who become Kingsley Explorers will be encouraged to embrace the joy of uncovering new ideas – through learning, teamwork and imaginative play.
Our new nursery will share the school’s commitment to acting with kindness, aiming for excellence, creating opportunity and building community.
Kingsley Explorers will be the first step in a child’s exciting educational journey. Those who want to continue this journey after nursery will be able to apply for places in Kingsley’s well-established preparatory school and continue all the way to the age of 18. But children will equally be welcomed to join the nursery alone and benefit from its warm, supportive environment which nurtures imagination and lays a strong foundation for future learning.
The nursery will provide care for parents who want longer or shorter days, and morning or afternoon sessions are available for those who do not require full time care. The nursery will be open from 8am – 6pm daily. Kingsley Explorers will offer both 15 and 30-hour government funding to eligible families.
Work will take place over the summer to transform the ground floor into a light, colourful and fun-filled space for our youngest learners. As with the current Kingsley Prep School, Kingsley Explorers will benefit from access to our popular Forest School and children will be able to develop their love of learning in both indoor and outdoor settings. Recruitment of a dedicated nursery team will begin shortly, and open days will follow once the new team is in post, well ahead of our opening.
