GCSE results 2026 – 63% of grades awarded at grades 9–7

Students from The Kingsley School are celebrating an outstanding set of GCSE results, with 63% of all grades awarded at grades 9–7, nearly three times the national average. These exceptional outcomes reflect the sustained commitment, resilience and determination of our students throughout their studies.

70% of students exceeded their target or expected grades by more than one grade, demonstrating the outstanding progress made by students at Kingsley and the impact of the support and dedication of our teaching staff.

The School is also celebrating five students who achieved 100% of their grades at grades 8 or 9, highlighting the exceptional academic achievements across the year group.

These results represent a significant achievement for our students and are a testament to their hard work, alongside the commitment and support of our teaching staff.

Peter Bucknall, Head commented: Congratulations to our Year 11 students on an exceptional set of GCSE results. These achievements are a testament to the hard work, commitment and determination shown by our pupils throughout their time at Kingsley, as well as the unwavering support of their teachers and families.

We are especially delighted that this cohort has achieved our strongest GCSE outcomes for a decade, with an outstanding number of top grades across a wide range of subjects. Their success reflects both individual ambition and the collective strength of our school community. We are immensely proud of all that they have accomplished and look forward to seeing them build on these achievements in the years ahead. Congratulations once again to the Class of 2026.

Thomas Spillane, Assistant Headteacher (Academic) commented: “This year’s outstanding results are richly deserved and reflect the sustained effort, dedication, and determination of this cohort. Their success has equipped them with strong foundations for the next phase of their studies, and we look forward to watching them flourish as they embrace new opportunities and challenges.”

Richard Nicholson, Foundation Principal, added: “It has been another year of exceptional GCSE outcomes for pupils across our Foundation schools.

Our purpose as a charity is to transform lives through power of education, and enabling our pupils to achieve the very best they can in public examinations is a vital step in that journey.

As well as these huge success, our pupils enjoy a vast array of opportunities which sit alongside their GCSE curricula, developing character, confidence, and skills – and having a huge amount of fun, too.

We look forward to seeing them thrive in their A Levels and giving a very warm welcome to all our new pupils joining our schools for Sixth Form.

Congratulations once again to the GCSE Class of 2026.”
