SUMMER PAPERS FOR YEARS 7 TO 10

Senior school pupils will be taking their Summer Papers next week. These are important opportunities to consolidate learning, refine revision techniques and measure progress across the subjects studied during the year. We encourage all pupils to do their best and to take them seriously; the timetables have been shared with you in previous Cornflowers.

It is important that pupils look after themselves during the week and ensure their wellbeing is prioritised. Top tips for this include:

  • Eating well and keeping hydrated
  • Doing some exercise
  • Setting aside time to relax properly in between revision sessions
  • Having a break in the evening from revising and digital devices to allow your brain to relax before going to bed
  • Getting plenty of sleep

SAVE THE DATE: SCHOOL PRIZE GIVING – 5TH JULY 2022

Our School Prize Giving ceremony for pupils in Years 5 through to 13 will be taking place in the afternoon of Tuesday 5th July in the Spa Centre in the heart of Leamington Spa. At this special occasion we will be recognising the achievements of the young people within our community, both in academic fields and co-curricular ventures. We will also be acknowledging their personal development and character building with awards such as the Kingsley Rose, named in honour of our founder and presented to a student who embodies the values and ethos of our school.

Parents of prize winners and performers will be given first priority for securing tickets for this event, and we encourage you to save the date at this stage. Following the ceremony, we will be hosting afternoon tea in The Kingsley School gardens for parents and prize winners.

ADMINISTRATION OF MEDICINES IN SCHOOL

Parents are kindly reminded that all medicines that your child needs to take during the day should be handed to the School Nurse, or the School Office in her absence. Medication must be in the original packaging with your child’s name clearly printed on all packaging. All medicines, except for asthma inhalers and Adrenaline Auto Injectors (AAI) must please be handed to the Nurse for safe storage. An extra AAI and/or reliever inhaler is required, for safe storage in case of Emergency.

Ibuprofen and Paracetamol are available for Senior School pupils, if your consent has been given on your child’s medical form. A written record will be sent home should administration be required, and we ask that if any medication has been given before school that the School Nurse is notified by email, nurse@kingsleyschool.co.uk

COVID-19 GUIDANCE

As you will be aware, the Government has issued its Living with Covid-19 plan:

www.gov.uk/government/news/new-guidance-sets-out-how-to-live-safely-with-covid-19.

If a pupil is unwell, they should be resting until they are well enough to return to the classroom.

If they are not unwell and do not have a high temperature, then advice is that they remain at school.

We will keep this under review. In the event of a major outbreak at one of our schools, it continues to be the case that we may be advised to take additional measures, including a temporary return to remote learning for some pupils.
