Business – Cambridge Technical Introductory Diploma, Diploma and Extended Diploma
The Cambridge Technical qualification in Business is an excellent choice for students that want to engage in an interesting and dynamic subject that will provide the skills and knowledge make a success of all future endeavors. The Cambridge Technical will benefit students who would prefer ongoing assessment rather than examinations at the end of the course. This course is entirely assessed by coursework and there are no external examinations.
This course can be taken as the Introductory Diploma, which is worth 1 A-level, to the Diploma, which is worth 2 A-levels and the Extended Diploma, which is worth 3. The course is awarded UCAS points like A-levels and can lead on to further study , apprenticeships or the world of work.
What will you study and learn?
Each of the three qualifications is made up of a number of mandatory units, which are supplemented by optional units that provide a range of topics to suit all who are interested in the world of business.
The Introductory Diploma has the following mandatory units:
- The business environment
- Business resources
The Diploma and the Extended Diploma also contain the following mandatory units:
- Introduction to marketing
- Business accounting
- Human resources management in business
Optional units for all levels include, among other options:
- Business communication
- Financial / management accounting
- Creative product promotion
- Market research
- Business and the economic environment
- International business.
- Internet marketing
All modules are assessed internally by the provision of coursework and set projects. All work is moderated by an external examiner prior to the award of the final grades.

The Cambridge Technical in Business could take you to university for further study, perhaps expanding your knowledge and experience in areas such finance, accounting or economics. The skills learned are also great for applying for apprenticeships, joining the world of work, or perhaps helping you to start your own successful business and kick start your career as an entrepreneur!
