Life at The Kingsley School is about far more than lessons in the classroom. It is an environment where students are supported to achieve academic success, discover their passions and grow into confident, compassionate young people.
Guided by The Kingsley Way, our community is built on kindness, excellence, opportunity and community. These values shape every aspect of school life and ensure that each student feels known, supported and inspired to achieve their full potential.
A Seamless Educational Journey
The Kingsley School offers a seamless through-school experience, where students can begin their journey in our Prep School from the age of three, progress into the Senior School in Year 7, and continue through to Sixth Form.
This continuity provides stability during the most important stages of a young person’s development, allowing strong relationships to form between students and staff and fostering a deep sense of belonging. Our consistent educational philosophy ensures that students benefit from both academic challenge and personal development throughout their time at Kingsley.
Wellbeing and Pastoral Care
Through our Positive Education approach, we place a strong emphasis on supporting students’ emotional wellbeing alongside their academic development. A dedicated pastoral system ensures that every student is known and supported, helping them to build confidence, resilience and positive relationships.
Our caring and supportive environment allows students to feel safe, valued and encouraged to be themselves. By prioritising wellbeing, we enable students to flourish both personally and academically throughout their time at school.
Sports and Games
Sport and Games are a key part of life at Kingsley, where every student is encouraged to achieve their personal best. We recognise that mental and physical fitness go hand in hand in supporting wellbeing and academic success. With excellent sporting facilities and enthusiastic, dedicated staff, students are encouraged to make the most of the wide range of sports and activities on offer. Our young athletes compete at all levels, including national competitions in sports such as equestrian, skiing, football and netball.
Students also benefit from outstanding facilities, including a state of the art fitness suite and our own 17 acre sports fields, which provide space for football, netball, tennis, rounders and athletics.
Creativity
Through expert teaching and excellent facilities, students are encouraged to think boldly, refine their techniques and express their ideas in creative subjects and beyond with confidence.
The performing arts are also a vibrant part of school life, with drama offering students opportunities to develop communication, resilience and self-expression.
From Early Years through to Key Stage 5, students take part in both curriculum and co-curricular drama, with regular performances and showcases allowing them to share their talents with the school community while building confidence, teamwork and creativity.
The School Day
Timetables are carefully designed to maximise productivity and support students’ success across all subjects. Thoughtful planning ensures that lessons are balanced throughout the week, allowing students to remain focused, engaged and ready to learn. Our approach takes into account the differing demands of academic, creative and practical subjects, ensuring that students have the time and space to perform at their best in each area.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
A Kingsley education extends far beyond academic study. Students are encouraged to explore their interests and develop new skills through a wide range of opportunities that complement classroom learning.
Our music programme enables students to learn instruments and perform regularly, while sport offers opportunities to compete and develop teamwork using excellent facilities, including a 17-acre sports field and a dedicated fitness suite. As the only Round Square school in the region, Kingsley students also benefit from global collaboration opportunities, including conferences, exchanges and international projects.
Students further develop future skills through our Future Ready programme, taking part in entrepreneurial workshops that encourage creativity, innovation and real-world problem solving.
These experiences help students build confidence, resilience and leadership, while discovering their passions and interests.
