VISIT US

We would recommend your start your journey with a visit to Kingsley School if you have not already been. This can be in the form of a private tour during the school day, or on an open day. Many families do both so they can experience every aspect of the Kingsley School. We would be delighted to welcome you to our school, so please contact our Admissions team to organise this or find upcoming events on our events page.

These events are a great opportunity to find answers to your questions, whilst our Admissions team will also be happy to talk to you about anything you want to know. For pupils in Year 5, we also hold a discovery day every spring so they can have a small taste of teaching and learning at Kingsley School as they start to contemplate senior school.

APPLY

When you are satisfied that Kingsley School is the right place for your child, then it’s time to make an application and pay the registration fee. You can do this via our simple online form. The main deadline for Year 7 applications is usually in the September of the year before joining, although if you would like to apply for a scholarship or bursary, the deadline is earlier. These deadlines for each year can be found on our key dates pages.

If you want to apply for a scholarship, please ensure you have the information you will need when you begin your application, which is detailed on our scholarship pages. Scholarship assessments take place ahead of the main entrance assessment day. If you are making a late application for Year 7 (after the initial deadline), please contact our Admissions team first to ensure we have spaces before registering.

ASSESSMENT DAY

Our entrance assessment day is held on a Saturday in October each year. If we receive your application by the deadline, you will be sent an invitation to the assessment day with full details of what you will need to bring and what to expect on the day. Pupils will usually remain with us for the entire day as they sit assessments in English, mathematics and verbal reasoning.

We aim to make the day a really enjoyable experience for the children, and include elements that enable us to get to the know the whole child. This means that they will also take part in some fun team-building and problem-solving activities as well as enjoying lunch together. Finally, each child takes part in an interview on the day with a senior member of school staff.

OFFER

We aim to make all Year 7 offers after October half-term. We will communicate with you whether your child is being offered a place or not and the offers will be made via email using the email addresses provided when you registered.

ACCEPT

If you have been made an offer of a place, we will ask you to accept your place by a deadline usually in early March. This will be clearly communicated on your offer letter. To accept your place, we require a copy of the acceptance form signed by all parents with parental responsibility unless we already know that this is not possible (typed signatures are not permitted). We will also ask for payment of the acceptance deposit at the same time – more details on this can be found in your offer letter. During this time period, we will also invite all offer-holders to enjoy events at the School as they begin to make friendships with other pupils starting in Year 7 at the same time.

Attendance at these events is not compulsory but is encouraged as the pupils who attend always find them very fulfilling and exciting evenings.

Once we have your acceptance forms and your deposit, you are ready to become a part of our Kingsley School community. More details about the start of Year 7 will be sent to families of pupils joining the school in the summer term.
