One of the advantages of being a through school for girls from age 3 to 18 is that each year a number of girls in the Senior School and Sixth Form benefit from the opportunity to work with pupils in the Preparatory School, where the younger pupils relish learning from the older ones.
Many girls throughout the school act as mentors to younger girls, or those needing a listening ear and some friendly support. Kingsley aims to provide girls with a wide range of leadership opportunities through their engagement in everyday school life, including the Student Voice forums in both Prep and Senior Schools, and through a variety of extra-curricular activities.
Our Senior Leadership Team goes through a rigorous selection process and plays a vital role in the life of the school. The team includes Head Girls, Deputy Head Girls, Senior Prefects and a range of other Prefect roles, all of which make a great contribution through charity initiatives, fun events and many more. The House System also gives girls of all ages the chance to organise activities and to lead others to give of their best in different competitions: Sixth Form students are particularly active in their roles as House Prefects, but responsibility is often given to younger girls to organise teams and other house groups. There are many opportunities for girls to show leadership in sport, through their own excellence or commitment, or in their desire to encourage others.
Activities such as the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme, World Challenge, Young Enterprise and whole-school charity fundraising events also provide many leadership opportunities.
