Pastoral Care

In our most recent school inspection, Kingsley’s arrangements for pastoral care were described as excellent – the top rating given by the Independent Schools Inspectorate. The inspectors said that: “the size of the school encourages positive relationships…and a clear sense of community encompasses pupils, teachers and support staff, as well as parents.”

Our pastoral system is led by Deputy Head Mrs Bailey in the Senior School and by Head of Prep School Mrs Whiting for our younger pupils. All members of the teaching staff are involved in pastoral care of the pupils at The Kingsley School, building a supportive and happy community.

You will have the opportunity to see your child’s form teacher on a daily basis and there are opportunities in each term to share your child’ learning, get involved in events or attend parent consultation evenings.

Our pastoral care aims to:

  • promote our friendly, caring ethos
  • support pupils in achieving high standards in all areas of school life
  • create a mutually respectful and hard-working environment.

PSHE

Our programme of personal, social, health and citizenship education (PSHCE) is a lively and relevant course taught by form teachers and during form periods. The main themes are personal relationships, social awareness and citizenship, health and safety and personal management. Topics are covered in increasing complexity according to age, and the way in which they are delivered is adapted to meet the needs of each group.

"This is a happy school."
